Last year when I was in Alaska. I uncovered around 40 postcards from the building of the Coulee Dam. That had been hidden away in a suitcase that probably had not been opened since the mid 30’s.
I found out my grandfather worked on the Coulee dam on his way to Alaska. I started scanning the images and trying to restore some of the original images to a less ‘old’ state ;)
The detail of the postcards is rather incredible. And with my trusty Epson v700 I have been able to digitally reproduce a lot of the images.
Inside each of these images is like a thousand stories in themselves. I hope to carve them out as time goes on.
I found the original Photographer Libby was a rather prolific photographer in the Pacific Northwest. I really love to work on these when I remember :(
If anyone sees these has more information on their origin, or any helpful advice. Please contact me, I would love to chat.
